I had to pace myself at the Savour Food and Wine Festival's Imbibe event! So many unique cocktails, designed by Nova Scotia's best mixologists, made for a fun evening.
One of my favorite projects this year: the I Love Local HFX brochure highlighting Halifax's best independent shops and restaurants. I Love Local HFX is a group of community-minded businesses that are committed to supporting each other and making Halifax a vibrant place to shop, eat and live. I'm thrilled to have been a part of the creative team bringing this new brochure together.
I first met the Zed Events Family (what I like to call them) about five years ago when I first got into event photography here in Halifax. They are a tight team of passionate and creative event planners that I am always thrilled to work with. Every event I attend is beautifully designed, professionally planned and a lot of fun to photograph.
I had a great time exploring the city and visiting local businesses last Saturday for I Love Local Halifax's Open City event. I made my way from the old Farmers' Market, to the Hydrostone and back again to the NSCAD Port Campus for the Artist for a Day event taking in as much as I could along the way!
I had the opportunity to photograph Maria Osende's Flamenco Valentine "Sublime" this past weekend and loved the show. It's always fun to see a performance up close from the stage, hiding just behind the curtains. As always, Flamenco Valentine was beautiful and powerful, I'm always blown away by the creative talent of the dancers and musicians. I wanted to share a few of my favorite images that capture some of the beauty of the performance.
This past weekend in Halifax, Nova Scotia was sunny, beautiful and full of fun activities for visitors of all ages and interests.The energy on the streets during I Love Local Halifax's Open City event was vibrant and positive – lots of smiling faces!
One of the things I love most about being a photographer, is connecting with and collaborating with some of the most amazing creative talent we have here in Halifax. Getting a peek behind the scenes and a chance to photograph the performances on stage, is a unique experience I enjoy much more than simply sitting in the audience!
This was my third year sponsoring and photographing Podcamp Halifax. I look forward to it every year and always have a great day catching up with friends from previous years and meeting new contacts. Podcamp brings together people interested in social media, blogging, web design and anything internet related.
